The Friends of Dover Castle hold a Carol Concert each year in the second week of December. They invite a local school to provide the music for this event. This may be an orchestra which plays the carols, instrumental pieces and solos. Junior schools provide a choir to lead the singing of the carols and provide choir only items and solos. The Friends of Dover Castle make a donation to the participating school's music fund. Other money raised is used by the Friends on projects which benefit Dover Castle and its visitors. For example The Friends have donated several electric 'bugies' for use by disabled visitors.
